Two Gloucestershire special schools to move

Two special schools in Gloucestershire housed in unsuitable buildings are to be relocated.

A review into provision for children with behavioural, emotional and social needs in the county is taking place.

Amberley Ridge School on Rodborough Common and Sandford, near Cheltenham, will be moved closer to Gloucester and Cheltenham for the 2013 academic year.

More than 200 pupils who need specialist teaching are taught at four schools in the county.

Gloucestershire County Council has said the current facilities are not fit for purpose.
