Gloucester man held in international paedophile probe

A man from Gloucester has been arrested as part of a worldwide investigation into internet paedophiles.

The 41-year-old was being held on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.

He was released on police bail until 1 July pending further inquiries.

The arrest was part of Operation Rescue involving police from several countries, including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Canada.

The investigation has been running for more than three years and has targeted 670 offenders across the world, Gloucestershire Police said.
