Biker 'critically ill' after A419 crash near Stroud

The condition of a motorcyclist, who became trapped under a van in a crash near Stroud, has worsened.

Gloucestershire police said the 56-year-old, from Oxfordshire, had shown signs of improvement on Saturday but was now critically ill at Bristol's Frenchay Hospital.

The crash happened on the A419 at Chalford just after noon on Friday.

Officers are still trying to trace another biker who may have witnessed the collision.

He was described as riding a powerful machine and was seen overtaking a lorry at the time of the incident, police said.
