Gloucester hospital opens new £9m multi-storey car park

A new multi-storey car park with 1,000 spaces has opened to staff and visitors at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
The tower car park features number plate recognition technology which matches staff permits to their vehicles and pay-on-foot machines for visitors.
Spokesman Ian Tait said the £9m car park would "significantly improve car parking provision" on-site for staff, visitors and patients alike.
Work began in April 2010 and has been completed on time by VINCI Park.
The design of the car park incorporates a series of timber louvre panels which will prevent car headlights from being seen in nearby properties.
