M5 southbound reopens after Gloucestershire incident

A 12-mile stretch of the M5 which was closed because of a serious police incident has now reopened.

The southbound carriageway between junction eight at Strensham, in Worcestershire, and junction 11 at Gloucester, was shut on Sunday morning.

The Highways Agency initially thought the road would be closed until 1400 BST but it reopened at about 1130 BST.

Traffic was diverted between junctions 10 and 11 while officers dealt with the incident.
