Quedgeley underpass drivers given 'one last chance'

Drivers illegally using a Gloucester underpass are being given "one last chance" to stop, or be fined.

A county council spokeswoman said people are ignoring bright yellow 'no access' signs on the approach to the Kingsway underpass in Quedgeley.

She said it should only be used by buses, licensed taxis and emergency vehicles.

Some 600 people were caught on CCTV using the underpass illegally in one week.

The authority installed a camera there on 9 April.

The spokeswoman said that £60 fines will be issued to drivers caught on camera using the underpass from Saturday, 23 April.
