Fire badly damages Manor Farm day nursery in Lechlade
A day nursery in Lechlade, Gloucestershire, has been badly damaged by fire.
Some 40 firefighters were called to Manor Farm nursery - a converted two-storey barn - in the early hours of Sunday.
The first floor was gutted by the fire and the ground floor partially damaged.
A child staying in a nearby holiday cottage was treated for smoke inhalation. The cause is not being treated as suspicious.
Crews from Cirencester, Faringdon and Burford spent nearly six hours at the scene.
Manor Farm nursery - one of two nurseries run by Manor Farm Estate - has a maximum capacity at any one time of 65 children aged from birth to eight years.
It was last inspected by Ofsted in March 2009 when it was given a "satisfactory" rating in early years provision.
