Cheltenham man, 75, hurt in robbery on doorstop of home

A 75-year-old man needed hospital treatment after being attacked and robbed as he answered the front door of his home in Cheltenham.

The incident happened in Selkirk Street, Pittville, at about 1530 BST on Monday.

A woman on the doorstep demanded money, then assaulted the pensioner, causing him to fall over and cut his head.

Gloucestershire Police said the offender stole two rings from his finger and a small amount of cash.

She is described as white, in her 20s, with brown hair tied back in a ponytail.
