Gloucestershire council cuts bus routes to save money

Two subsidised bus services are to be cut in Gloucestershire as the council looks at ways to make savings.

The remaining 130 subsidised routes would be preserved with help from community transport schemes.

The council said it had identified £700,000 worth of savings by renegotiating contracts with bus companies, if councillors agree.

It said it needs to save £2m from the £5m budget and will announce its decision on Friday.
