Tewkesbury phone line reconnection work nearly complete

People in Gloucestershire who are still without telephone and internet services following cable thefts last week were due to be reconnected on Wednesday.

Underground cables were stolen from the Tewkesbury area on 15 September which left more than 1,000 homes and businesses without the services.

A BT spokesman said the repair work was going well and they expected to have everyone back in service on Wednesday.

The stolen cabling ran alongside the road between Toddington and Alderton.

"It is pretty painstaking work because each line has to be individually reconnected onto the new section of cable," added the spokesman.
