Three bailed after Forest of Dean crash

Three people arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car struck a man in the Forest of Dean have been released on bail.

Police were called to reports that a 33-year-old had been injured on Harbour Road in Lydney on Sunday.

A 23-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both from Coleford, and a 22-year-old man from Gwent were arrested.

They have been released on bail until 23 November pending further inquiries, Gloucester police said.

The injured man was treated for minor leg and head injuries at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. He has since been discharged.

The force said it was linking the collision to an assault in Station Road early on Sunday afternoon, during which a woman, 19, suffered a laceration to her hand which required hospital treatment.

A 30-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has also been bailed until 23 November.

Police have urged anyone who saw a black Toyota Celica being driven in the area on Sunday afternoon to contact them.
