Illegal workers found at Gloucester Chopsticks takeaway
Three illegal workers have been found working in a Gloucestershire takeaway, the UK Border Agency has said.
Acting on public information officers visited Chopsticks on High Street in Gloucester to check the immigration status of staff.
A Chinese man, 49, and woman, 21, were found to have entered the UK illegally. A man, 25, was found to be a failed asylum seeker who had not left the UK.
All three are on immigration bail while they are removed from the UK.
Money worth more than £7,000 was seized from the premises while further investigations are conducted.
Chopsticks now faces a civil penalty for employing the illegal workers and could be fined up to £30,000 unless it can be proved that right-to-work checks were made before the staff were taken on.
