CCTV image of Prestbury war memorial suspect handed out
Copies of a CCTV still image of a woman wanted in connection with the vandalism of a Gloucestershire war memorial are being handed out at local colleges.
The monument in Prestbury near Cheltenham was damaged on 7 October.
Police handed out leaflets at sixth forms and colleges in Winchcombe, Bishops Cleeve and Pittville on Friday.
They show a CCTV image, taken at a local fast food restaurant, of a woman who they believe may have crucial information about the case.
Damage was caused to the stone memorial on the High Street between 23:25 BST and 23:40 BST on October 7.
Det Ch Insp Marc Flannery said: "We are grateful to all those who have passed information to us so far, but I want to appeal directly to those involved.
"The net is closing in, it is only a matter of time before you are identified, so hand yourself in before someone else does."
Last week it was revealed the war memorial was so badly damaged it would have to be rebuilt, rather than repaired.
The parish council said it meant it would not be ready in time for this year's Armistice Day commemorations next month.
