Eight arrested in drugs raid at pub in Gloucester

Six men and two women from Gloucester have been arrested after a drugs raid at a pub in the city.

Police say about 50 officers searched the Golden Heart pub in Tredworth at 22:30 GMT on Friday.

All 28 people who were in the pub were searched. Police seized cash as well as class A and class B drugs.

A closure order was served on the licensee of the pub, and an application will be made for the order to be extended for an additional four weeks.

Ch Insp Tony Godwin, said: "We are pleased with the results of our search.

"We have been able disrupt criminal activity in the Tredworth area and prevent these drugs from getting on to the streets of Gloucester."

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

A 62-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A and B drugs.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs, and one man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.
