Cheltenham stabbing: Woman charged

A 27-year-old woman has been charged after another woman was stabbed in the back in Cheltenham on New Year's Eve.

Police said Rebecca Nangle, of Priors Road, Cheltenham, would appear before town magistrates later charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

The victim was attacked in Priors Road at about 23:50 GMT on Saturday.

A 42-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail.

Gloucestershire Police said the 27-year-old victim was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital but her back injury was not thought to be life threatening.
