Cirencester Parish Church fences removed after women injured

Fencing around Cirencester Parish Church which blew down on Tuesday injuring two women has been removed.

Two sections of the hoarding collapsed in high winds on Tuesday and fell on to two passing women who both had to be treated in hospital for minor injuries.

The Reverend Canon Leonard Doolan, vicar of Cirencester, said the hoarding near West Market Place had been removed and a skip used to clear up the debris.

A health and safety inspector visited the site on Tuesday evening.

The fencing was constructed out of wood and corrugated metal and was being used to secure a builders' compound at the church.
