Safes taken in two burglaries near Cirencester

Two safes containing large amounts of cash have been stolen from two properties in Gloucestershire.

The first - which was screwed to the floor - was stolen from a pub at Foss Cross, near Cirencester, on Monday between 02:00 and 09:30 GMT.

The second was taken on Tuesday from a shop in nearby Rendcomb and also contained money along with a large quantity of cigarettes.

Police said they were investigating possible links between the two thefts.
