A teenage girl was the victim of an attempted sexual assault as she walked in a Gloucestershire park.

The 16-year-old was approached next to the Clock Tower flats in Coney Hill, Gloucester on Wednesday.

She managed to push the attacker, who is described as white and in his mid to late-teens, off her and run away, police said.

Gloucestershire Police asked for anyone with any information about the attack to contact them.

Spotty red skin

Detectives are investigating whether the incident is linked to a rape which happened in the same area on 2 May, when a 20-year-old woman was attacked in grassland near the Clock Tower.

The rape is one of three sex attacks detectives are investigating in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Innsworth. Women were targeted in public places such as parks over a six-month period.

Two men from the Gloucester area have been arrested in connection with the incidents and released on police bail.

The victim of the latest incident described her attacker as having spotty red skin and dark brown stubble. He is thought to have been riding a black or dark blue bicycle.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the force or Crimestoppers anonymously.
