Gloucester City Council budget: Council tax frozen

Gloucester City Council is to freeze its council tax next year, for the third time running.

The approval was given by councillors at a full council meeting on Thursday, as part of the budget for 2013-14.

The authority says it aims to save £1.9m from its £18m annual budget in the coming year.

Initiatives will include spending less money on street cleaning, grass cutting, refuse collection and leisure services.
