A 10-year-old boy has been sexually assaulted during a football match in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

The boy, from Stonehouse, was using the toilets during the Forest Green Rovers game when he was approached and touched inappropriately by a man, police said.

The offender has been described as white, aged between 50 and 60 and wearing a black waist-length jacket.

A statement from the Blue Square Premier league club said it would help the police in any way it could.

It added the football club takes child protection very seriously.

Gloucestershire Police said it was made aware of the incident, which happened on Saturday, by an adult who had heard what happened from the young victim.

Anyone with further information is being asked to make contact with the force.
