Man charged over Cheltenham stabbing

A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was stabbed in Cheltenham.

Kane Sean Owen McConnon, 22, of Colne Avenue in Whaddon, has also been charged with possession of a knife.

He was detained after police were called to a report of fighting outside a property in Thames Road, also in the Whaddon area, on Tuesday afternoon.

The man, believed to be 26 years old, was found with stab wounds and other injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

Mr McConnon will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court later.
