Katy Skerrett named as new Gloucestershire coroner
A new senior coroner for Gloucestershire has been appointed.
Barrister Katy Skerrett will step up from her current position as the county's assistant deputy coroner.
She takes over from Alan Crickmore, a solicitor who was jailed for eight years for stealing £2m from clients.
Sally Bye, head of registration and coroner services, said Mrs Skerrett "will provide leadership and a forward-thinking approach to the coroner services".
It has not yet been confirmed on what date Mrs Skerrett will start in the post.
