Injured man 'not thrown from van' in Wotton-under-Edge

A man left seriously injured after "an incident involving a van" had not been pushed from the vehicle, Gloucestershire Police has said.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after reports a man had been thrown out of a van in Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday.

Police said no criminal offence was committed and the van occupants had tried to get "urgent" medical help.

The 41-year-old man remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

The incident happened on the High Street at about 21:25 BST.

Police said after talking to witnesses and examining CCTV they had concluded the "injured man was not pushed from the vehicle".

They said the three men who had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and another man and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, had been released from police bail.
