Two men have been arrested after a police car was hit by a 4X4, which officers believe was used in an earlier ram raid at a petrol station.

Gloucestershire Police were called to C and A petrol station in Winchcombe on Friday night, where a "large quantity" of cigarettes had been stolen.

At about 22:00 GMT, a 4X4 hit a police car in Wellington Street, Cheltenham then drove off and crashed into a wall.

The men were arrested after being seen running from the car.

Gloucestershire Police are also linking what happened with a third incident in Chipping Campden where a 4X4 was involved in a crash but failed to stop.
