Boy seriously injured in van crash on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester

A 10-year boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a van on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester.

Gloucestershire Police said the crash happened at about 08:30 GMT on the A38 between the Coney Hill Road and Painswick Road junctions.

The boy, who is from Gloucester, suffered a serious head injury and was taken by air ambulance to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The spokesman said the road had since reopened after being closed earlier.
