M5 motorway closed for overturned lorry recovery
Part of the M5 in Gloucestershire was closed for several hours after a lorry overturned, spilling about 130 gallons (600 litres) of fuel on to the road.
The southbound carriageway of the motorway was closed between junctions 8 and 11, near Tewkesbury, after the spillage in the early hours.
Traffic was diverted on to the M50, A417 into Gloucester and A40 but the motorway reopened at about 20:00 GMT.
Gloucestershire Police said the driver suffered minor injuries.
The lorry spilled fuel across the carriageway and police said it could not be reopened until the surface was made safe.
There were severe delays for motorists all day.
