Drug-drive arrest after Moreton Valance pedestrian death

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after her car hit a pedestrian, who later died in hospital.

The 81-year-old woman was crossing the A38 at Moreton Valance in Gloucestershire at about 11:50 BST when she was struck by the vehicle.

The woman was airlifted to hospital but pronounced dead shortly after.

The road is closed at Fromebridge roundabout and Hill Top Garage and Eastington while police investigate.
