Sailor found dead on board HMS Cattistock is named

A 20-year-old sailor who was found dead on board HMS Cattistock while it was docked in Portsmouth has been named.

Samuel Hatton, a Royal Navy engineering technician who lived at the naval base in Portsmouth, was found dead on Sunday afternoon.

Police officers were called to the base where they found Mr Hatton on board the minesweeper. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Post-mortem tests will try to establish the exact cause of the sailor's death.

The Royal Navy is also investigating.
