Driver charged after Hampshire police officer injured

A man has been charged three months after a policeman was seriously hurt in Hampshire when he was hit by a vehicle while investigating an earlier crash.

Pc Nick Oliver was struck by a van while at the scene of an accident on the A27 at Cosham, near the Portsmouth junction, in June.

The 52-year-old male van driver, from Havant, was charged with driving without due care and attention.

Pc Oliver spent almost two months in hospital but has since been released.
