Man's jaw broken in pub assault in Hampshire

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault in which a man suffered a broken jaw in a pub.

The victim was attacked, along with another pub-goer, at the Wey Bridge pub in High Street, Alton, Hampshire, early on Saturday morning.

He was later taken to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment, police said.

"The pub was busy when the assault happened and someone may have witnessed what happened," a spokeswoman said. The arrested man has been released on bail.

The spokeswoman added: "It was an unprovoked attack and one of the victims suffered nasty injuries."
