Cannabis worth £500,000 found on lorry in Portsmouth
A man has been arrested after cannabis resin with a street value of £500,000 was discovered inside the trailer of a lorry at a Hampshire port.
UK Border Agency officers seized 170kg of the illegal cargo after the lorry arrived in Portsmouth on board a ferry from Santander in Spain, on Sunday.
The 38-year-old British driver was arrested and questioned. He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
The drugs are undergoing further examination, an agency spokesman said.
