Driver critical after car crashes into house

A 21-year-old driver is critically ill in hospital after losing control of his car and smashing into a house.

Police said the man's vehicle was in collision with another car in Chapel Street, Mortimer West End, Hampshire, before he lost control of it.

He was cut free from the Peugeot 206 but was unconscious and taken to hospital, where he remains.

The female driver a Ford Fiesta was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Police closed the road while officers investigated.

Fire crews were called to assess the damage to the house.
