Hampshire girl hit by bus remains seriously ill

A five-year-old girl hit by a bus in Hampshire during Thursday evening's rush hour, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

She is thought to have fallen from her scooter into the path of a single-decked bus in Knightwood Road, Chandler's Ford.

The girl, who was with her mother, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious head injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The bus driver, a 50-year-old man from Hedge End, was not injured.
