Southampton Water body is missing ex-police officer

A body found in Southampton Water has been identified as that of a 64-year-old retired police officer who had been missing for two months.

Paul Tillyer, 64, of Southampton, had not been seen since leaving Margheritas restaurant in Town Quay on 28 December.

Divers had searched nearby waters, where Mr Tillyer had a power cruiser moored, but found no trace of him.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed a body found at the weekend was that of Mr Tillyer.
