Hampshire rams found bludgeoned to death in Boldre

Two stolen rams have been found bludgeoned to death in a violent attack in Hampshire.

One was hit in the head with a sharp weapon and the other had been partially gutted.

The servicing rams, valued at about £300 each, were found in Rodlease Lane, Boldre, on Thursday and were taken from a farm in Thatcher's Lane, Ripley.

Hampshire police are appealing for information.

Pc Helen Haines said the owner of the rams, a farmer, "cannot understand why anyone would kill the animals with such violence and discard them so unnecessarily".
