Tests show Lyndhurst man died from stab wound to chest

A man found dead inside his New Forest home died after being stabbed in the chest, post-mortem tests have revealed.

Paul Steven Pass, aged 54, was discovered by officers who were called to the property in Foldsgate Close, Lyndhurst, on Thursday evening.

Mr Pass - known to friends and family as Steve - was described as a "much-loved son" by his parents.

Michael Hanlon, 52, of no fixed address, but of the Lyndhurst area, has been charged with murder.

He will appear at Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday.

Mr Pass, who was unemployed and unmarried, died from a single stab wound to the chest.

His parents, Jean and Eric Pass, paid tribute, adding: "Steve was a very much-loved son and losing him in such tragic circumstances is devastating to us".
