Security guard's teeth kicked out in Southampton theft

A security guard had three teeth kicked out while trying to stop a man suspected of shoplifting in Southampton.

The guard, 51, and two colleagues chased after a 23-year-old man believed to have stolen beer from Iceland in Shirley High Street on 19 March.

After the suspected shoplifter was caught, three other men appeared and started kicking the guards.

The attack happened near to The Griffin pub in Anglesea Road.

Events took place between 1715 and 1745 GMT.

The three attackers are described as white and aged in their 20s.

A second security guard was also injured in the attack.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
