Crews rescue man in Hampshire trapped in mud

A man who was trapped in mud in Hampshire for more than half an hour in the early hours of the morning has been rescued by firefighters.

Crews from Southsea and Havant were called to Ferry Road in Portsmouth at 0435 BST, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Eleven firefighters and an officer used two hose reels and a multi-roll vehicle in the operation.

The man, who was not injured, was freed by the crews at 0509 BST.
