Boscombe murder accused remanded into custody

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murder.

Police were called to Hawkwood Road, near to the junction of Sea Road, Boscombe, on Thursday night.

Nicholas David Ormerod, 29, of Southbourne, Bournemouth, died of a stab wound in hospital in the early hours of Friday.

Mark Haylock, 49, of no fixed abode, appeared at Winchester Crown Court where he was refused bail.

He is due to re-appear in court on 9 June.

Four people were originally arrested over the incident.

A 39-year-old man remains on police bail while investigations continue.

A 40-year-old man and a woman, 32, were released without charge.

An inquest into Mr Ormerod's death was also opened and adjourned at Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset Coroner's Court.
