Gosport health worker probe called off

An investigation into two suspected bogus health care workers who visited a newborn baby has been called off after they were found to be genuine.

The child's parents in Old Road, Gosport, Hampshire, became suspicious and alerted authorities on 31 March.

It has emerged the pair, who were adult service workers, called at the wrong house in what has been described as a "genuine mistake".

The investigation by Hampshire Police and health chiefs has been dropped.
