Southampton student attack woman blinded by stroke

A 21-year-old woman has been left virtually blind after she and two friends were attacked at a Southampton student night event.

The recently graduated woman suffered a stroke after the incident and has been left totally blind in one eye, with very little vision in the other.

The three women were attacked outside the POP club in Vernon Walk.

A 20-year-old woman from Portsmouth and 21-year-old woman from Southport have been arrested and released on bail.

The attack happened on 18 May at about 0040 BST.
