Fordingbridge teenager dies in hospital after crash in the New Forest

A 17-year-old girl who was hurt when a car carrying two other teenagers spun out of control in the New Forest has died in hospital.

She was a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa travelling from Sandy Balls holiday park along the B3078 towards Fordingbridge, Hampshire, on Thursday.

Police said the 19-year-old driver lost control of the car at about 2330 BST.

The vehicle rolled, seriously injuring the girl who was in the front seat.

The teenager, who was from Fordingbridge, died at Salisbury District Hospital, a Hampshire police spokesman said.

A 17-year-old boy, who was the rear seat passenger, suffered serious spinal injuries and remains in Southampton General Hospital.
