Injured cyclist found on Basingstoke roundabout

A cyclist is being treated in hospital for life-threatening injuries after being discovered on a roundabout in Hampshire.

The man was discovered on the roundabout in Basingstoke, at the junction of Wade Road and Swing Swang Lane, on Thursday at 1811 BST.

Hampshire police said the cyclist had sustained severe, life-threatening head injuries.

Officers are trying to establish how the cyclist ended up where he was.

He was taken to the North Hampshire hospital before being transferred to the Wessex Neurological Unit at Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
