Southampton armed robbery: Five boys charged

Five teenage boys have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Southampton.

Hampshire Constabulary said four boys, aged 13, 14, 15 and 16, were charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

They appeared before Southampton Youth Court earlier. It follows an incident at the News, Food and Wine store in Spring Road, Sholing, on 30 June.

Police said a fifth boy, aged 14, had subsequently been charged with robbery.

He is due to appear at the same court on Tuesday.
