Southampton man in court over 'Facebook riot messages'

A man from Southampton has appeared in court charged with using Facebook messages to incite violent disorder.

Mitchel Stancombe, 20, of Kingsley Gardens, was bailed to return to Southampton magistrates on 7 October.

He is charged with the offence under section 44 of the Serious Crime Act 2007, police said.

A 27-year-old woman and 25-year-old man arrested in the city on suspicion of attempting to incite violence on Twitter have been released on bail.
