Cyclist sought after armed raid on Aldershot scrap yard
Police are trying to trace a cyclist who may have witnessed an armed robbery getaway vehicle in Hampshire.
A cashier at Dean Wood Scrap Yard in Aldershot was threatened with a gun by a masked man on Friday. He escaped with a cash box to a waiting car.
The Vauxhall Vectra was later discovered burnt out off Stubbs Lane.
A male cyclist who stopped at the scene of the fire just after 11:50 BST told a woman he had seen the Vauxhall Vectra leave the scrap yard.
The cyclist was described as being in his late 50s, about 6ft tall, with long grey hair and wearing a black beanie-type hat.
Officers were also trying to trace a group of students who had been conducting a survey in Government Road on Friday morning and builders who were working on cottages overlooking the woods off Stubbs Lane.
Det Insp Julian Venner said: "None of these people are suspects but they may hold important information and we need to speak to them urgently."
