Potential car buyer stabbed and robbed in Hampshire

A man was stabbed and robbed after being duped into believing he was buying a car in Hampshire.

The victim had arranged to meet the alleged seller near the Buckland Parade shops in Buckland Avenue, Basingstoke, at 15:00 GMT on Saturday.

He was stabbed by the bogus seller in the stomach and the leg and robbed of his cash, behind the shops.

The man was taken to Basingstoke hospital for treatment. A 24-year-old man has been arrested.

The victim's girlfriend, who went with the man but was in a shop at the time of the stabbing, was not injured during the incident.

A group of three men were seen running away from the scene along High Drive towards Pinkerton Road shortly after the incident. They were all wearing hooded tops.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Police.
