Hampshire policeman injured in collision while training

A Hampshire Constabulary police officer was seriously injured in a collision on the A32 while he was taking part in a motorbike training exercise.

The 52-year-old was on a police motorbike when he was in collision with a Citroen C5 Estate car at Fareham in the early afternoon.

The Citroen driver has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving.

The police officer has been taken to Southampton General Hospital where he is in a "stable condition".

Road closures have been in place to allow for a full investigation and recovery of the scene.
