Dorset's healthcare trust has appointed a new chief executive.

Paul Sly will head the Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.

Current chief executive Roger Browning is stepping down after 20 years to spend more time working with "service users and frontline staff".

Mr Sly, who is currently chief executive of the NHS Bournemouth and Poole and NHS Dorset cluster, will start his new role in March 2012.
