Hampshire drink and drug-driving arrests up on 2010
More people in Hampshire have been arrested in the first three weeks of a drink and drug-driving campaign than during the same period last year.
There have been 148 arrests since 1 December - an increase of 18.4% on last year's 125.
Hampshire Constabulary said that 10 of the arrests had been for being over the limit the morning after a night out.
Insp Martin Goodall said: "Not realising you're still over the limit won't stop you from being banned."
Most arrests were made on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights between midnight and 04:59 GMT and more than 86% of the drivers arrested were men.
